Guided tour of the Catacombs of Saints Marcellino and Pietro
Access to the catacombs of Saints Marcellinus and Peter is only possible with a booked guided tour. Each tour lasts about 40/45 minutes. Each guided tour can be accessed by 25 people.
Visits in Italian are at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Visits in English are at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
It is possible to book a guided tour in French, Spanish and German at 10:00 a.m. or 3:00 p.m. on request at the time of booking one week in advance).
It is possible to book visits in German at 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. for an additional charge of €60 per group.
On Thursdays the archaeological complex is closed.
Due to the nature of the site, it is not possible to guarantee access to persons with motor disabilities or persons with reduced mobility.
Reservation is mandatory. Once you have sent your booking via the website, whatsapp or email you must wait for a confirmation email from the staff.

Visit to the Antiquarium of the Mausoleum of St Helena
Inside the mausoleum of St. Helena is the display housing the collection of archaeological material found on site. Visits are free from 10 a.m. to 12 noon in the morning and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the afternoon.
On Thursdays the archaeological complex is closed.
The antiquarium is accessible to all, there are also tactile experiences for blind people.

- Students of the Pontificio Istituto di Archeologia Cristiana (with card issued by the Pontificia Commissione di Archeologia Sacra)
- Priests and sure belonging to the Religious Family of the Catacomb Custodian Community
- Professors, teachers, and catechists accompanying groups (one free for every 15 paying visitors)
- For groups of at least 35 persons purchasing a full-fare ticket, two free entries are granted
- Tour guides with a valid card
- Scholars who, documenting the object of their research, make a specific request to the Pontificia Commissione di Archeologia Sacra

- Groups of students from schools and institutes, first and second grade
- Students of archaeology, architecture, art history and cultural heritage up to the age of 25, who present themselves with appropriate certification
- Priests, men and women religious, seminarians and novices, who present themselves with appropriate certification

School fees
Students can take advantage of the reduced rate of €7 per student upon presentation of a letter with the list of students, stamp and signature of the institute director. There is also one free ticket for every 15 paying students.
Group rates
For groups of more than 10 persons, a transfer of half the value of the cost is obligatory, which will not be refunded in the event of cancellation by the group.
The transfer must be made within 3 working days otherwise the booking will be cancelled. Visits take place in groups of at least two people.
Workshops
The museum organises workshops for children aged 3 and over. Reservations are required at least one week in advance to enable the workshops to be organised.
A minimum number of 5 participants is required.
Each workshop can accommodate a maximum of 20 participants.
Fresco workshop
Participants will become pictores for a day. Armed with brushes, colours and imagination they will try their hand at the early Christian masterpieces of the catacomb frescoes.
Everyone can take home their own work of art!

Online purchasing
Reservations are required to visit the catacombs. Online booking is free of charge and allows you to pay on site by cash or credit card.
If you prefer to buy your ticket online, the only official online sales channel is operated by opera romana pellegrinaggi /omnia vaticanrome and the resellers (tiqets, get your guide, headout) authorised by it whose presale rights have been agreed upon.
The management of the catacombs is not liable for purchases made through other channels. The cost is €12.00 including €2.00 booking fee.
Special Visits
They take place at monuments that are normally closed to the public, as well as those that are generally open to the public, for which, however, a specific request is made for access to sectors excluded from the visiting circuit.
